DAUGHTER: LOS ANGELES FOODPORN

I had actually made a promise to eat clean while I'm in the USA studying but in the first weeks I just HAD to try everything I can. It actually wasn't just all American food (except the burgers. and the pancakes.) as the LA area (or the USA in general) is such a melting pot for cultures, you probably will end up eating something new you've never tried before.

Man kann also sehr viel neues ausprobieren.

BREAKFAST

If you ever come to LA, make sure to check out TOAST Bakery Cafe on 3rd near Beverly Center. It's the cutest little Café with a great meal deal (Pancakes or French Toast + Bacon or Sausage + 2 eggs + Fruit for 12,50$) and the atmosphere will actually not make you think you're in America (except the cold AC and waiters, duh). It's always packed so it's best to get there latest 9.30am

SUSHI FOR LUNCH
The lunch break is just long enough to enjoy a bowl of Sushi. In fact, Murakami Sushi on Melrose was the first Sushi place ever to make me a sushi bowl - and trust me, I don't have sushi just occasionally. It's a bit harder too eat with the sushi rice hiding underneath the tons of sashimi (which was amazing!) but the overall experience of this new kind of sushi was a pleasant surprise.

 BURGER
If you've ever searched for "Burger" on Google Images you've probably come across this beauty and there's definitely no way around it in California: IN-N-OUT BURGER! A small menu (Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double Cheese, Fries, Milkshakes and Drinks) and an almost bigger secret menu (Grilled Cheese, 3x3, 4x4 or your favorite Burger wrapped in salad leafs (go protein style!!) ) there's nothing too fancy to distract you from the crunchy bun and crispy fresh fries. And that salad tho. Ask for frie sauce!

DESSERT
Also on Melrose is Baskin Robins, and Oreo Nutty Salted Caramel is what you should ask for. If you're not so much into sweet and salty, get one of their other tasty sundaes or ice cream mixes. They also make cakes!

DINNER: KOREAN BBQ
Another first time for this trip. I can't believe this was my first time at a Korean BBQ! I've tried Mongolian BBQ back home in Germany but this was completely different. SO MUCH MEAT! If you take the All You Can Eat option you can eat as muc has you can choose from a variety of marinated meat, fish, rice, soup and vegetables that will be put on the hot stone ON YOUR TABLE! The downside is that you will definitely smell like a BBQ when you leave the restaurant.

ICED GREEN TEA FRAPPUCHINO
'Nuff said. New favorite drink. Ask for less sugar though.
